29th June - Day 5 - Surprise!

Hi... Jon here......

Well here I am at home which was a supprise to me today. The Doctor said this morning that if my blood count wasn't too low then I could come home for the weekend, so here I am.

Lizz brought me home tonight in our new car which was nice, apart from the air-con not working. GRRRRR to Gowrings. It will be nice to have a few days at home with peace and quiet, and not having nurses waking me up every four hours to change my fluids.

Well I thought it would be different if I did my blog tonight and give Lizz a break from it. Hope your all well and thankyou for your kind words of support that you have been giving me.

Our Journey

September 08 - Symptoms return, Brain Scan reveals Lymphoma has returned sadly there is nothing more can be done to help Jon. We are now just living each day and cherishing each moment we have together as a family.

I have entered into the 2008 Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research. Please feel free to sponser me and help me help Jon and others to get the treatments they need.

March 08:

Life has dealt us a cruel blow, after symptoms returning a checkup at the hospital has confirmed that Jon's Lymphoma has returned, so once again we return to this blog for support and strength from our friends and family and I will try my best to keep you all informed of how things are going.

Sept07:
Jon has amazed everyone, on September 4th 2007 he was told that he no longer has any cancer cells, along with this news came the fantastic news that the brain tumour they said he would have for life, also seems to have run away, he called his lymphoma Brian... he said Brian wouldnt win... (Brian may have won Big Brother 8) but Jons Brian lost !!!!

The Start:
At the moment my blog is here to help myself and Jon through the journey against cancer. The title of my Blog refers to the fact I would rather he was with his fire crew battling a fire than having to fight cancer.

Jon has a Large B-Cell Lymphoma in the Brain (He has called it Brian) and will soon be starting Chemotherapy to battle against it.

We were told its treatable but not curable. We are both being positive that Jon can win. The support from family and friends is more than we can ever thank people for.
